Mike showed magic mirrors originally (https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/magic-mirror/). I had a raspberry pi lying around from a failed project, so I figured why not give it a try… how hard could it be?
My mirror shows the time, the weather, the state of my garage door (open or close), and the last 5 pushover notifications I have received.
I pulled this metal thing out of the garbage. Gave it a fresh coat of paint, and a fancy wood piece for the top.
I built a desk. No formal plans or anything, just used some 4x4’s for the legs, 2x4’s to support the table top, and 1x6’s for the table top.

I got tired of the metal frame + box spring combo for my bed so I decided to make something better.
Also, the metal frame would slide around because the wheels were broken and wouldn’t lock, so this new bed is on rubber grips and is almost unmoveable.
I built a workbench modeled after one that my dad had built in his garage. The design is very straight-forward, it follows conventions for framing a wall or a floor, with 2x4 studs nailed in 16” on center to support the desktops.
I liked the workbench so much I built a second right after, and connected the two together with a piece of 3/4” plywood to hold my chop saw!

A simple stepping stool made out of 2x4’s and 1x6 cedar pieces. Legs joined to the top with pocket hole screws
